A wedding menu that tastes of Costa Brava
I cook weddings on the Costa Brava at stone masias in the Empordà, medieval villages and villas above the coves, from an intimate dinner to 500 guests. You get one chef responsible for every plate, a menu written for you and a team I brief and lead.
This coast gives me the red prawns of Palamós, salted anchovies from L’Escala, sea urchins in the cold months, and rice from Pals for a lighter seafood rice. I like the Catalan idea of mar i muntanya, so I pair fish with mushrooms or game from the hills, cook over vine cuttings and smoke, and pour Garnatxa and other wines from the Empordà.
Ceremonies often take place among olive trees or in a stone courtyard in the late afternoon, then guests move to long tables as the light turns gold over the fields. The night ends with dancing in the masia, and I plan a late snack to keep everyone going.
A menu idea: L’Escala anchovies and Palamós prawns with the aperitif, mar i muntanya over fire, and Empordà wines through dinner.
Season and logistics
The main wedding season on the Costa Brava runs May to October. The tramuntana wind can blow hard in the north around Cadaqués and Cap de Creus, so I plan a sheltered service area and a backup for open terraces. Narrow lanes in the old villages also limit the size of vans that can reach the kitchen. I work alongside your planner and venue so the kitchen fits into their timeline.
What I can cook for you
Canapés and aperitif
Cold and warm bites for the arrival, each one a clean single mouthful, made from local produce.
The wedding dinner
A plated tasting menu, a family-style feast, food stations, or a mix of all three.
Drinks programme
Wine and champagne pairings, a non-alcoholic pairing and a signature cocktail, designed with the menu.
Late-night food
Something warm and salty around midnight to keep the dance floor going.
Welcome and rehearsal dinners
A relaxed barbecue or fire-cooked feast to start the weekend, or an intimate tasting menu for family.
Day-after brunch
A late, generous brunch for everyone who stayed, and one last moment together.
My signature: live-fire wedding catering, a wild and foraged wedding menu, and intimate weddings and elopements.

Weddings on the Costa Brava: good to know
When is wedding season on the Costa Brava?
The main season runs May to October. Popular dates book early, so secure yours as soon as the venue is confirmed.
Can you cook a Catalan-style seafood rice for a big wedding lunch?
Yes. A large rice cooked over a wood fire in front of guests works beautifully for a day-after lunch or a relaxed wedding meal.
Can you cater a large wedding on the Costa Brava?
Yes, up to 500 guests with a hired kitchen and service team that I brief and lead.
Do you cook the welcome dinner and brunch too?
Yes. The whole wedding weekend can be planned as one menu, from the welcome dinner to the day-after brunch.
How is the date secured?
A date is locked when a deposit of at least 60 percent is received.
